New Land, new Life: The story of the Icelandic migration in the 19th century exhibited in text, pictures and staging. Conditions of the ordinary Icelanders towards the end of the 19th century explaining where they emigrated from, and where the Icelanders settled in the new land. This exhibit is situated in the Old Co-op House. Silent Flashes: Currently on display at Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik. A display of photography taken in North America from 1870 to 1910 with approximately 400 photographs of Icelandic emigrants. The exhibit is situadet in "Frændgarður" house. On the trail of Sturlungar: The history and art exhibition in Kakalaskáli gives insight into the tumultuous 13th century Iceland, focusing on the story of the Sturlungar clan chieftain Þórður Kakali. Audio guides are available in several languages. The staging of the battle of Haugsnes - large scale outdoor installation: The owner of Kakalaskáli Sigurður Hansen, has arranged 1320 rocks, each representing a warrior in the fateful morning of the battle. Those who died in battle and the following days are marked with crosses. María's workshop: Crafts and all kinds of new and old things.
At the exhibition, 'Life on a Turf Farm', at the old farm of Glaumbær, you experience what life was like in the past. The exhibition replicates pictures that were taken of exemplary homes in the 19th century. The buildings Gilsstofa and Áshús, located at Glaumbær, are also from the 19th century. Áshús contains exhibits about households from the first half of the 20th century, as well as hosting the café, Áskaffi. Gilsstofa currently functions as a staff office.
The old farm of Glaumbær is part of the collections of the National Museum of Iceland.

Drangey island is a birdwatching paradise. The island is a nesting colony for thousands of seabirds. The island is a sheer-sided palagonite rock approximately 180m high and provides a wonderful view over the whole fjord.
A trip to Drangey is a unique experience combining sightseeing, birdwatching, sailing, hiking with personal service and guidance. There is a man made path to the top of the island along the face of the cliffs. The tour is suitable for both groups and individuals of all ages. The tour duration is approximately 4 hours.
The agricultural heritage museum at Lindabær has a large collection of old tractors, including makes such as Ferguson, Deutz, Farmall and Zetor. The museum also keeps some rarities, for example a Leyland 154. Most of the tractors have been restored, both in motor and body. The museum also has a collection of broad range of farm machinery that reflect the agricultural- and technological development in Iceland, including grindstones, a horse drawn hay rake, deering sickle sharpener, milking machine and many other interesting items. The museum is located at Lindabær in Sæmundarhlíð, enter road 762 between Sauðárkrókur og Varmahlíð. Here, you can also buy coffee and waffles. Welcome!
Víðimýri Church is one of the few preserved turf churches in Iceland and dates to 1834. The church´s fate was uncertain at the beginning of the 20th century, but since then, it has been recognized as an indispensable part of the Icelandic cultural heritage.

The Vintage Auto Museum has on exhibition around 100 vehicles; cars, buses, motorcycles, snowmobiles, agricultural machinery, small gyrocopter and alot of small knickknacks tied to the Icelandic transportation heritage. In front of the museum and around it, at least 200
- 250 vehicles and machinery in various condition, which intrigues the museum‘s guests. The museum‘s workshop is south of the museum, and are all the repairs and remodeling on the vehicles and machinery operated there.
